Administrative Services Bureau

Administrative Services Bureeau has a citywide focus on quality of life issues and operates under the Support Services Division. It includes those functions, such as gang crime prevention, quality neighborhood teams, neighborhood watch, and crime free multi-housing. The personnel assigned to Administrative Services have unique cross-training and resources available to them, which PSA commanders use to proactively combat crime in Fairfield.

The Adminstrative Services Bureau is responsible for the following activities:

Crime Free Multi-Housing Program

Through the Fairfield Police Department, Fairfield apartment community property managers and owners can participate in a FREE education and certification program. This is a three-phase program that has been developed in an effort to reduce crime, clean up rental properties, improve quality of life, and increase property values throughout the City.

Crime Prevention

Crime prevention specialists participate in many community oriented prevention programs such as, Neighborhood Watch, Parent Project, Site Security Surveys, Operation 10 Fingerprinting, and National Night Out. They provide crime prevention information and training for these programs in the community.

Police Student Internship Program

The Police Student Internship Program is designed to provide vocational opportunities for students enrolled at Solano Community College (and other colleges in the future) who are working toward a Criminal Justice Degree. The Police Student Internship Program provides an opportunity to earn college credit while volunteering at the Police Department. Interns gain valuable vocational work experience at the Fairfield Police Department under the supervision of the Internship Coordinator and in conjunction with the Solano Community College Criminal Justice Department Coordinator.

Quality Neighborhood Team

A police officer, assigned to the team with other City employees (Quality Neighborhoods Team information page), monitors calls for service and any criminal activity in QNT areas. The officer patrols QNT areas and participates in programs established for the tenants, property owners, and managers in designated parts of the city. The officer also relays information to neighborhood managers and works with them on emerging police issues.

Volunteers In Police Services (V.I.P.S.)

The Fairfield Police Department VIPS program is a volunteer program designed to supplement and support police officers and civilian personnel by allowing them to concentrate on their primary duties. Volunteer roles may include performing clerical tasks, serving as an extra set of "eyes and ears," assisting with search and rescue activities, senior wellness checks, vacation checks, writing citations for disabled parking violations, and much more.
